The 2026 RLB Art Prize has been conferred upon Matthias Noggler, a biennial accolade from Raiffeisen-Landesbank Tirol aimed at artists with ties to Tyrol. Vik Bayer and Simona Obholzer received recognition prizes. This year’s iteration saw notable enhancements: the main award increased from €10,000 to €15,000, while recognition prizes rose from €4,000 to €6,000. Additionally, the applicant age limit was extended from 40 to 45. Out of 95 submissions, eligibility required either being born in Tyrol or residing there. Noggler, born in Innsbruck in 1990 and currently living in Berlin, was honored for his painting practice that draws on various art-historical styles, particularly European modernism. The prize has been supporting artists since 2004.
