Matter of Art Biennial 2024 Opens in Prague with Focus on Solidarity

The third edition of the Matter of Art Biennial runs from June 14 to September 29, 2024 in Prague. Organized by the Czech section of the Tranzit network, this biennial launched six years ago. Titled 'Grafting Solidarities – From the Factories to the Fields', the event is part of a broader landscape where major cities establish biennials to boost cultural life, attract tourism, and improve international standing. For initiatives in East Central Europe, including the Biennale Warszawa, Kyiv Biennial, OFF-Biennale Budapest, and Survival, continuous self-examination regarding goals, content, and audiences remains essential. Each new biennial prompts questions about its purpose both locally and globally.
