Matteo Nasini Wins Second Edition of L'Arte che Accadrà

award · 2026-05-05

Matteo Nasini (Rome, 1976) won the second edition of L'Arte che Accadrà, a prize and exhibition organized by the communication group Hdrà. The award, curated by Valentina Ciarallo, is part of a broader initiative linking contemporary art and corporate culture. Five artists were selected to exhibit at Palazzo Fiano, a 15th-century building in Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina, Rome, where Hdrà's 140 employees voted for the winning work. Nasini's piece, Le cose non crescono al buio (2012), is a punching bag made of multicolored wool with abstract embroidery, suspended from the ceiling. The artist, a classically trained cellist, works across sculpture, installation, and sound. In October 2016, he won the ninth edition of the Talent Prize with Sparkling Matter, a project combining art and neuroscience that used brainwaves of a sleeping subject to generate live sound scores and 3D-printed porcelain sculptures.
