Matteo Del Fante named president of Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi

Matteo Del Fante, who is the CEO of Terna, has stepped into the role of president at Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi in Florence. He takes over from Lorenzo Bini Smaghi, who resigned in late April after serving for ten years. During his tenure, Bini Smaghi oversaw major exhibitions, including Cézanne in Florence in 2007, Bronzino in 2010, The Springtime of the Renaissance in 2013, as well as Pontormo and Rosso in 2014, and Picasso and Spanish Modernity from 2014 to 2015. His final exhibition, Divine Beauty from Van Gogh to Fontana, ran from 2015 to 2016, alongside From Kandinsky to Pollock, which is on view until July 24. Established in 2006, Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi aims to offer exhibitions outside of Italy’s traditional venues.
