Matteo Boetti Launches U.N.A. United Nations of Artists Across Umbria

Matteo Boetti, poet, curator, and director of CollAge gallery in Todi, and son of Alighiero Boetti, inaugurates a diffuse art project titled U.N.A. United Nations of Artists across Umbria. Running from May 6 to November 2023, the project features 90 artists including Elisabetta Benassi, Paolo Canevari, Enzo Cucchi, Nunzio, and Salvo, who explore dichotomies such as local-global and real-virtual through painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. Venues include museums, historic palaces, deconsecrated churches, and galleries in Todi, Trevi, Narni, and Acquasparta. Boetti describes the initiative as a celebration of his 30-year career, which began in 1993 with his first space Autori Messa near the Pantheon in Rome. He emphasizes a ludic approach, selecting artists he has worked with for years, and states that while the UN fails to solve wars and hunger, artists can succeed, calling the project his own United Nations.
