Mattatoio di Roma launches 2021 residency program 'Prender-si cura' at La Pelanda

The 2021 iteration of the 'Prender-si cura' residency program has been revealed by the Mattatoio di Roma at La Pelanda, focusing on the advancement of contemporary art research and creation. Cesare Pietroiusti, the artist and President of Azienda Speciale Palaexpo, stated that the initiative seeks to establish the Mattatoio as a leading international center for performing arts. Curated by Ilaria Mancia, this program broadens the traditional residency model to embrace collaborative projects and online documentation through Medium. The second edition features choreographer Alessandro Sciarroni and includes artists such as Annamaria Ajmone, Gianmaria Borzillo, and others. Additionally, Luigi Presicce's residency work from the previous year is on display. Pietroiusti emphasized that post-renovation, the 'Rimessini' spaces will merge dining, knowledge, and innovative experimentation, paving the way for a vibrant arts community.
