Matèria gallery moves to larger Rome space, opens with Stefano Canto show
The Matèria gallery is set to relocate from via Tiburtina 149 to a larger space at via dei Latini 27 in Rome, effectively doubling its current size. Founded by Niccolò Fano in 2015, it focuses on contemporary art with an emphasis on photography, showcasing artists like Fabio Barile and Xiaoyi Chen. This new venue will allow for a bigger team, a more extensive exhibition lineup, and educational initiatives for arts training. Fano believes this move will strengthen ties within the city and enhance collaborations both nationally and internationally. The gallery’s first exhibition in the new space, "Carie" by Stefano Canto, launches on February 13, 2021, and includes a publication by Fiorenza Pinna. There will also be a new interactive platform called "Pillow Talk Platform."
