Master Artist: Facebook Live Art Contest by Luca Rossi

Luca Rossi, an artist known for his critical stance on the contemporary art system, has launched Master Artist, a talent show streamed live on his Facebook page. The contest features seven artists competing over six episodes, with two types of challenges: the '24 ore' (24 hours) where participants create an artwork the day before the live stream using provided materials, and the 'Mistery box' where they must produce a piece in ten minutes with materials announced during the broadcast. The jury includes critic, curator, and Brera Academy professor Giacinto Di Pietrantonio, collector Marco Rosa, and Rossi himself. The semifinal episode hosted artist Jacopo Benassi as a guest. The winner receives an interview sponsored to 10,000 people, a critical text, participation in a future Luca Rossi Lab project, contact with an international contemporary art gallery for a future project, three studio visits with curators and critics, and live streams to 15,000 people. The final is scheduled for May 5. The contest is inspired by the format of MasterChef, with artists and judges participating from their homes.
