Massimo Listri's Architectural Photography Brings Beauty to Care Settings

artist · 2026-04-27

Massimo Listri, a photographer born in Florence in 1953, has curated a collection of images featuring historic architecture for the initiative 'L'Arte si prende Cura' (Art Takes Care). This project, spearheaded by Ambassador Antonio Zanardi Landi and endorsed by the Embassy of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the Holy See, seeks to introduce art into environments of suffering, with backing from Fondazione Angelini. Approximately thirty large-format color photographs will be showcased at the Ospedale di San Giovanni Battista della Magliana in Rome, as well as in Order of Malta clinics both in Italy and internationally. Listri, who began his photography career at 17 and has published over 80 books, now employs digital cameras and relies on his intuition, keeping a red notebook of locations he wishes to capture.
