Massimo Grimaldi's Digital Humanism on View in Milan

At Galleria Zero in Milan, Massimo Grimaldi presents his solo exhibition 'Tomorrow’s Iridescence,' which features expansive screens displaying humanitarian and naturalistic photo reportages. The collection includes non-documentary pieces that intertwine memories with untouched nature, seeking to unravel the complexities of reality. Grimaldi, known for his work on Emergency initiatives in Afghanistan and Sudan, evokes a sense of nostalgia through a series of flashbacks and imagery. The exhibition highlights landscapes from Flores (Azores), Ifakara (Tanzania), and the deserted streets of Venice during the pandemic, symbolizing hope for a vibrant future. Grimaldi, who earned the MAXXI duepercento prize in 2010 for 'nullifying art,' allocated funds to establish Emergency's Paediatric Centre in Port Sudan, while also examining the swift obsolescence of digital communication and the possibilities of human-machine coexistence.
