Massimo Giacon's illustrated journey through 100 concerts

Massimo Giacon's book "Masticando km di rumore" (Feltrinelli, Milan 2021) recounts 100 concerts he attended from 1975 to 2021, blending written memoirs with his distinctive illustrations. The book covers performances by artists such as Antonello Venditti (1975), Franco Battiato (1977), Skiantos (1979), Ramones and The Clash (1980), Iggy Pop, Paolo Conte, Matia Bazar (1983), Nina Hagen, Prince, Diamanda Galas (1990), Public Enemy, Sonic Youth, Marilyn Manson, Lydia Lunch (2010), Arcade Fire, and Young Signorino (2018). Giacon's writing is ironic and self-deprecating, focusing not only on the music but also on the socio-political context, the musicians' state, and the audience. His illustrations adapt to each subject while maintaining his signature rock new wave aesthetic with dada-situationist influences.
