Massimo De Carlo to Open Art Foundation in Monferrato by 2025

institutional · 2026-04-27

A protocol was established on July 12, 2023, at the headquarters of the Province of Asti to initiate Massimo De Carlo's new cultural foundation in Belveglio, Monferrato, which is anticipated to open by the end of 2025. Collaborators on this project include the Province of Asti, the Municipality of Belveglio, Comunità Collinare Val Tiglione e dintorni, and Ente Turismo Langhe Monferrato Roero. This foundation will mark the first private contemporary art center in Asti, designed by architect Valerio Olgiati, encompassing over 2,000 square meters of primarily underground exhibition space. A competition for young Italian architects will be organized for the service buildings. De Carlo selected Belveglio due to its cultural and scenic attributes, with Mayor Christian Vercelli expressing excitement about the regional advantages. De Carlo's gallery, established in 1987, showcases both Italian and international artists.
