Massimo Bottura opens his art collection in a video for Art Basel's Inner Worlds

Chef Massimo Bottura stars in a video directed by Nicolo Terraneo for Inner Worlds, a Nowness series produced for Art Basel. The film showcases his contemporary art collection at Casa Maria Luigia, a 18th-century guesthouse near Modena, Italy. The collection, assembled with his wife Lara Gilmore, includes works by Ai Weiwei, Carlo Benvenuto, Joan Crous, Joseph Beuys, and JR. Highlights include Ai Weiwei's triptych with a 2,000-year-old Chinese vase, Benvenuto's Yellow Monochrome (Bottura's favorite), and Beuys' In difesa della Natura. The property features sculptures like Il Babbo at the entrance and giant ice cream cones on the balcony. Bottura states, 'The most important ingredient for the chef of the future is culture.' Casa Maria Luigia operates as a luxury guesthouse with museum-quality artworks in each room, offering vinyl records and expansive gardens.
