Massimiliano Camellini's Grey World at Bag Gallery Parma
Massimiliano Camellini, born in Venice in 1964, presents a photographic series at Bag Gallery in Parma that captures life aboard cargo ships. The artist, who continuously travels on these vessels, documents everyday traces and rejects any human repair. Water dominates the scenes, never fully revealing itself. The photographs depict a grey-scale realm where identities are shaped by dual gazes: toward exclusive objects like compasses, smartphones, and passports, and toward an undefined elsewhere beyond the water. Memories root themselves in places across the ocean. The exhibition is curated by Federica Bianconi, an architect, curator, and art critic who graduated in Architecture from IUAV Venice and completed a Master in Management for Curators of Contemporary Art and Architecture Museums at MACRO Rome.
