Masbedo's 'Tralala' Screens at Venice Film Festival's Venice Days

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

Italian video art duo Masbedo (Nicolò Massazza and Iacopo Bedogni) will present their film 'Tralala' at the 2012 Venice Film Festival as part of the Venice Days (Giornate degli Autori) sidebar, running August 30 to September 8. The 52-minute work, produced by Rossofuoco, was shot in Iceland and explores the 2008 economic crisis through the metaphor of the island's geological rift. Originally a five-screen video installation, 'Tralala' documents Icelandic life and the 'kreppa babies' (crisis children), structured like cantos of a divine comedy. The announcement came during a press conference at Rome's Casa del Cinema, following Masbedo's recent event at the Italian embassy during the Berlin Biennale and their stage design for 'Il Rimedio della Fortuna' at Milan's Teatro Strehler.
