MASA Gallery Opens Permanent Space in Mexico City

exhibition · 2026-05-01

MASA Gallery has opened in a restored colonial building from the 18th century, located in the heart of Mexico City. The establishment evolves from a traveling project initiated in 2018 by creative director Age Salajõe, along with designers Héctor Esrawe, Brian Thoreen, and collectors Isaac Bissu and Roberto Diaz. Previously, this initiative displayed art in Miami and New York. The inaugural exhibit featured solo works by Thoreen, whose piece delves into innovative production methods, and Mario García Torres, whose collection draws inspiration from Bruce Nauman's iconic sculpture. This site was once famous for hosting grand 'Fiestas del Tercer Imperio' in the 1960s and 70s.
