Más Arte Más Acción Connects Colombian and German Forests at documenta15

Colombian nonprofit Más Arte Más Acción (MAMA) presented a series of activities at documenta15 in Kassel, addressing climate change and deforestation. In collaboration with Atelier Van Lieshout, MAMA created the MAMA doc space for film screenings and discussions, and Werner, a mobile platform exploring alternative ways of living. In the Karlsaue Park greenhouse, an installation made from tree trunks affected by bark beetles was displayed alongside sounds from various Colombian territories. On June 22, MAMA organized "Walking as Possible Dialogues," a public debate walk through the park with participants including Fausto Moreno and Osneyder Valoy from the Chocó region of Colombia, Karlsaue Park authorities, researcher Sina Ribak, and MAMA member José Fernando Serrano. The group discussed environmental issues in Colombia and Germany, seeking common ground. Further activity series are scheduled for July and September, focusing on climate justice, environmental rights, memory, peace processes, alternative living in biodiverse territories, and Afro cinema narratives.
