Martina Melilli Wins ArteVisione 2017 with Video Mum, I'm Sorry

Martina Melilli has won the fourth edition of ArteVisione, a project supported by Sky Academy to showcase Italian talents under 30 through a national call. Her video, Mum, I'm Sorry, won a production prize and a training course with audiovisual professionals, plus the opportunity to exhibit in major Italian museums. The work debuted at Sala Fontana, Museo del Novecento in Milan during Giornata del Contemporaneo, and will air on Sky Arte HD on October 16, 2017, before traveling to Madre, Maxxi, Mart, and Museo d'arte contemporanea Villa Croce. Inspired by the theme Memory and Identity, the video creates an archive of memories based on conversations with migrant survivors of a long journey, offering an intimate look at stories and affections of bodies now lifeless.
