Martin Vongrej's 'Pre-nature' at AMT_PROJECT in Milan
Slovak artist Martin Vongrej (born 1986 in Bratislava) presents his solo exhibition 'Pre-nature' at AMT_PROJECT in Milan, curated by Daniel Grúň. The show runs until October 14, 2016. Vongrej's black-and-white visual works depict everyday objects and landscapes, arranged on pedestals of varying heights to create an intuitive perception of landscape that evokes synesthesia, programming, and a kind of sonic diagram. The exhibition explores the interplay between the unconscious and physical perception, offering visitors a composite image of many images that compose the experience of time through a complete abstraction of represented space. Traces of a world in transit, between a state of unconsciousness and forced lucidity, allow Vongrej to define a continuous mirroring of one dimension into another, forming a limbo that requires many different viewpoints to be completed in the eyes of the beholder.
