Martin Parr's Photos Transformed into Skateboard Decks by The Skateroom

The Skateroom has released two new limited-edition skateboard decks featuring photographs by Martin Parr, produced in collaboration with the Martin Parr Foundation. The decks transform Parr's iconic images into collectible objects, printed on seven-layer premium maple wood, numbered, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity with a holographic sticker bearing the photographer's portrait and signature. One deck, "The Ocean Dome, Miyazaki, Japan, 1996," is a triptych across three boards, depicting an artificial beach under a giant dome with controlled waves, simulated climate, and synthetic light—a manufactured paradise for mass tourism. The other, "In Benidorm (Goggles)," captures sunburned skin, reflective goggles, and the blue Mediterranean in a single frame, amplified to cinematic effect. Both editions are part of The Skateroom's ongoing practice of repurposing photography into physical, tangible objects that change how the images are perceived.
