Martin Parr and Jo Ractliffe Dual Exhibitions at Jeu de Paume, Paris
From January 30 to May 24, Paris's Jeu de Paume is hosting two individual exhibitions: "Global Warning" by British photographer Martin Parr (1952-2025) and "En Ces Lieux" by South African photographer Jo Ractliffe (b. 1961). "Global Warning," Parr's final curatorial endeavor, consists of five sections that reflect on his fifty-year photographic career, showcasing early black-and-white pieces such as the Morris Minor series (1980-1983). Curated by Quentin Bajac, it focuses on Parr's commentary on society. Meanwhile, "En Ces Lieux," marking Ractliffe's debut solo show in France, includes twelve sections that examine colonial narratives in South Africa and Angola. Curated by Pia Viewing, it features works like "Terreno Ocupado" (2007) and "Landscaping" (2022-2025).
