Marta Zapparoli Releases 'Interdimensional Generated Space' on Dissipatio

Marta Zapparoli's 'Interdimensional Generated Space' is a new publication on the Italian label Dissipatio, run by Nicola Quiriconi. The project originated from live performances and was developed as an extended suite. It uses distant recordings captured in Norway combined with studio sessions employing a self-built crystal radio, light, detectors, motors, and antennas to create a technological and sound transposition of the Northern Lights. The work explores energy movement between different modes of perception across space and time, blending 'natural cosmic voices' with electromagnetic forces generated in real time. It contrasts invisible processes with sensory perceptions, guiding listeners through soundscapes oscillating between naturalness and artifice. Zapparoli's performative approach emphasizes immediate dialogue between space, equipment, and audience, using self-built instruments and unconventional electronic devices. The studio version retains the immersive quality of the live performances. The album is available on Bandcamp.
