Mart Rovereto's 'Eretici' Showcases Art Heretics from Moreni to ORLAN

The Mart in Rovereto is hosting 'Eretici' (Heretics), an exhibition curated by Denis Isaia that delves into radical artistic innovation as a counterpoint to mainstream styles. With the subtitle 'Arte e vita' (Art and Life), the exhibition highlights the connection between the artist and their work. It showcases prominent 20th-century figures such as Mattia Moreni, Sylvano Bussotti's integration of music and visual arts, and Giovanni Testori's genital drawings. Additionally, it features photography from Nan Goldin and Boris Mikhailov, ORLAN's body transformations, excerpts from Pasolini's 'Salò', and Carmelo Bene's 'depensamento'. Contemporary talents like Oscar Giaconia, Federico Tosi, and Nicola Samorì are also represented, alongside an Art Brut section that celebrates creativity free from traditional constraints, enriched by themes of music, literature, and underground media, reflecting a journey of ethical and aesthetic bravery.
