Mart di Rovereto Announces 2021/22 Exhibition Season with 8 Shows Across 3 Venues

Vittorio Sgarbi, who leads Mart di Rovereto, just shared the exhibition schedule for 2021/22. This lineup features eight shows across three venues: the Mario Botta-designed building in Rovereto, Casa Depero, and the Galleria Civica di Trento. Running from autumn 2021 through winter 2022, the season intends to merge historical and modern elements. One standout exhibition is 'Depero New Depero,' organized by Nicoletta Boschiero, which highlights Fortunato Depero's democratic art and his influence on figures like Ettore Sottsass and Alessandro Mendini, as well as his ties to New York. The agenda also includes a retrospective on sculptor Alceo Dossena, along with exhibitions showcasing Piero Guccione, Achille Perilli, Romolo Romani, and local Trentino artists. Additionally, Sgarbi has appointed a new board, featuring vice president Silvio Cattani and councilor Dalia Macii, alongside scientific committee members such as Stefano Bruno Galli and Riccardo Muti, with Diego Ferretti serving as general director since 2020.
