Mart Announces 2016-17 Season with Boccioni, Galvani, and Futurist Body Studies

The Mart, or Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto, has revealed its exhibition schedule for 2016-17. Kicking off with a preview on October 14 at the Galleria Civica di Trento, it will feature a solo show by Andrea Galvani, selected during the 2015 ArtVerona through the Level 0 initiative. The main season launches on November 5 with 'Umberto Boccioni. Genio e Memoria,' celebrating a century since Boccioni's death, running until February 19. On November 19, Casa d'Arte Futurista Depero will explore Futurist views on the body, which predate performance art. Director Gianfranco Maraniello, now in his second year, mentioned architectural upgrades by Mario Botta and new pathways for the permanent collection. Future exhibits include Eliseo Mattiacci from December 3 to March 12, alongside a collaboration involving Grazia Toderi and Nobel laureate Orhan Pamuk. Maraniello emphasized a unified approach for exhibition planning at Galleria Civica and noted their commitment to transparency in funding for all shows.
