Marseille Selected as Host City for Manifesta 2020 European Biennial

Marseille will host the 13th edition of Manifesta, Europe's contemporary art biennial, in 2020. The French city has committed €2.4 million in total funding for the event, with €627,000 specifically allocated to secure hosting rights. This announcement follows Zurich's hosting of the biennial in summer 2016 and Palermo's scheduled hosting in 2018. The mayor's office has formally approved the subsidy release. The theme for the 2020 edition will be revealed in autumn 2016.
