The Marsden Hartley Legacy Project has just launched its website, featuring more than 1,600 artworks by the American modernist Marsden Hartley, who lived from 1877 to 1943. This project, which kicked off in 2019, is led by art historian Gail R. Scott and involves the Bates College Museum of Art. It provides extensive information on Hartley’s works, including provenance, exhibition histories, and bibliographies, covering over 2,200 exhibitions and 2,100 publications.
