Marlene Kuntz launch Karma Clima music factory in Piedmont valleys

The Italian rock band Marlene Kuntz has initiated Karma Clima, an experiential project comprising three residencies in the valleys of Cuneo, Piedmont. The project features a mobile music laboratory and recording studio—a music factory engaging local and national communities, culminating in the production of a new album in spring. Bassist Luca Lagash, who also coordinates the project, emphasized that every creative aspect of Karma Clima, including the album's sound, is intrinsically linked to experiences during residencies in Ostana, the Baladin brewery in Piozzo, and Paraloup. These residencies involve discovery and interaction with the territory, dialogue with local businesses and community artists, and collaboration with institutions such as Fondazione Fitzcarraldo, Museo del Cinema, Politecnico di Torino, local administrations, Unioncamere, and community cooperatives led by Viso a Viso. The project aims to foster synergies beyond music, including cinema, spectacle, environment, tourism, mountain innovation, and cultural business. It integrates visual arts through collaborations with artists Moira Franco and Franco Sebastiani, and documentation by photographers Michele Piazza and Lorenzo Letizia. The initiative seeks to co-create new cultural business models by merging the band's poetics with rural and mountain characteristics.
