Marko Tadić's First Italian Solo Show at Laura Bulian Gallery
Curated by Marco Scotini, the exhibition 'Imagine a Moving Image' at Laura Bulian Gallery in Milan is the first Italian solo show dedicated to Croatian artist Marko Tadić (born Sisak, 1979; lives in Zagreb). The show features artist books, drawings, and collage series on the walls, alongside miniature backdrops placed in the center of the gallery that function as perspective boxes, offering a utopian vision of a miniature world. Projection screens, mockups, and perspective boxes reduce the scale of projections and animations, forcing viewers to filter their gaze through raw materials. Walking through the exhibition, one feels part of a large drawing that conveys the history of multiform architectures, enhanced by the artist's animations such as 'Until a Breath of Air' (2015) and 'Moving Elements' (2016). These works actively reinterpret the tradition of the Zagreb School of Animated Film, which dates back to the 1950s. The exhibition runs until June 30, 2016, at Laura Bulian Gallery, Via Piranesi 10, Milan.
