Marko Miladinović's 'Libro massimo di poesia': An Anarchic Poetic Experiment
Swiss poet, musician, and performance artist Marko Miladinović (Vukovar, 1988) has released his new collection 'Libro massimo di poesia' in February 2024, published by independent press Agenzia X. The book is described as a unique, kaleidoscopic work that blends poetry with visual arts, irony, and surrealism. Miladinović, known for organizing poetry events in Swiss Italian region for a decade and performing in France, Germany, Spain, Croatia, and Tunisia, previously published 'L’umanità gentile' (Miraggi Edizioni, 2017). In an interview, he discusses his creative process, selecting about two poems per month over five years, and his disdain for irony, stating 'Irony I despise because it is always right.' He draws a contrast with Marcel Broodthaers, who moved from poetry to retinal art to sell works in the 1960s, while Miladinović sees himself as 'without works' and against creative labor. The collection includes pieces from his oral poetry repertoire as a Ticino Poetry Slam curator and musician with Amiata (popmusik). He rejects distinctions between prose and poetry, citing Valerio Magrelli quoting Giuseppe Pontiggia: 'I do not put the message in the text / but I ask it from it / it is from it that I expect it.' The interview appears on Artribune.
