Marios collaborates with artist Jonathan Vivacqua for SS18 collection

Fashion brand Marios, founded in 2002 by Cypriot Mayo Loizou and Polish Leszek Chmielewski, has a history of collaborating with artists. For its Spring/Summer 2018 collection, Marios chose Italian artist Jonathan Vivacqua (born 1986 in Como). Vivacqua created a large sculpture that served as both a totem for models to walk around and an installation for displaying garments. He also designed two T-shirts printed with his artworks and a line of oversized geometric earrings, described as "wearable sculptures." The earrings have garnered significant interest and will go into production. The collaboration was presented at Marios's showroom in Milan (Via Novi 2) until October 20, 2017. Previous artist collaborators include Paolo Gonzato, Simone Rainer, and Alessandro di Pietro. Loizou stated that the brand seeks a balance between aesthetics and functionality, creating unisex, convertible clothing rooted in a cultural process.
