Mario Zanaria's 'Il teatro e mia zia' Photographic Exhibition on Milan's Corso Vittorio Emanuele II

Mario Zanaria's photographic exhibition 'Il teatro e mia zia' is installed along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan from October 15 to November 7, 2021. The show features portraits of 24 theater workers—technicians, actors, directors, stagehands, playwrights, dancers—from Milanese institutions including Teatro Paolo Grassi, Teatro della Cooperativa, Teatro dell'Elfo, Piccolo Teatro, Teatro Franco Parenti, and Parenti District – Art & Design. Each portrait is accompanied by a short text written by Greta Cappelletti, who conceived the project in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown to give visibility to performing arts workers in crisis. The display consists of a series of prints (some previously published in Perimetro magazine) mounted on the street, aiming to demystify theater professions for the general public, as suggested by the title's reference to an aunt who doesn't understand the creative work.
