Mario Merz Prize 2019 Finalists Announced
Finalists for the third edition of the Mario Merz Prize have been revealed. In the art category, the nominees are Bertille Bak, Mircea Cantor, David Maljkovic, Maria Papadimitriou, and Unknown Friend (a collaboration between Stephen G. Rhodes and Barry Johnston), whose works can be seen at Fondazione Merz in Turin until October 6, 2019. The music finalists are Annachiara Gedda, Mauro Lanza, Filippo Perocco, Robert HP Platz, and Jay Schwartz. The art jury consists of Samuel Gross, Claudia Gioia, and Beatrice Merz. The winners will be announced in Madrid at the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía during a solo exhibition of Mario Merz, with the art winner earning a commission for a solo show in November 2020.
