Mario Cucinella to design new Biblioteca Federiciana in Fano
Mario Cucinella has been tasked by the Municipality of Fano and the Montanari Foundation to oversee the renovation and expansion of Biblioteca Federiciana. Under the direction of MC A – Mario Cucinella Architects, the initiative aims to restore the historic structure adjacent to the Baroque Church of San Pietro in Valle while adding a new four-story transparent building featuring a basement and terrace. Sustainability is a key focus, with the facade designed to reduce solar exposure and enhance natural light. The project will integrate green areas that link the outside with the terraces. Following the conversion of the former Luigi Rossi school into the MEMO – Mediateca Montanari library, foundation president Corrado Arturo Montanari announced that funding and implementation will occur in stages, with support from Antonella Agnoli.
