Mario Cucinella Architects' Five Milan Projects at Triennale

The exhibition 'Empatia Creativa' at La Triennale di Milano showcases five ongoing projects by Mario Cucinella Architects in Milan. The projects include two corporate headquarters in Porta Nuova (Gruppo Unipol and COIMA, the latter expected by 2017), two hospitals (Città della Salute e della Ricerca in Sesto San Giovanni, with masterplan by Renzo Piano Building Workshop, and Nuovo Polo Chirurgico e delle Urgenze for Ospedale San Raffaele), and an underground Museo per l'Arte for Fondazione Luigi Rovati in a private palazzo on Corso Venezia. The exhibition features virtual reality devices placed among trees as a sustainability metaphor, allowing visitors to explore the buildings. A book, 'Mario Cucinella Architects. Creative Empathy' (Skira Editore, 336 pages), covers 15 years of the studio's work. The exhibition runs until December 18, 2016, and includes a talk program; on December 17, Ferruccio De Bortoli will moderate a discussion on the future of hospitals.
