Mario Ceroli's 'L'Ultima Utopia' at 21Art Treviso

Mario Ceroli's site-specific exhibition 'L'Ultima Utopia. Ceneri e germogli, cronache dal Presente' at 21Art Treviso in Villorba, curated by Cesare Biasini Selvaggi, runs until July 31. The installation juxtaposes golden stone with lapis lazuli-blue painted wood, creating a dialogue between material and color. Oxidized metal mesh barriers evoke war and destruction, breaking the chromatic purity. The monumental work 'Evviva' (5 meters wide) embodies collective joy and utopian aspiration. Ceroli shifts from his 1960s-70s figurative pine wood sculptures to geometric abstraction, incorporating foreign elements like gold stone and metal mesh. The exhibition transforms the space into a total installation, addressing historical trauma and the cycle of ashes and rebirth.
