Mario Ceroli's First Paris Solo Show at Tornabuoni Art

exhibition · 2026-04-23

From October 7 to December 11, 2010, Tornabuoni Art in Paris is hosting the inaugural solo exhibition of Italian artist Mario Ceroli. While Ceroli was part of the 1969 group exhibition 'Quatre Artistes italiens plus que nature' at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, this event marks his first solo showcase in the city. The exhibition highlights his works spanning from the 1960s to 2003, predominantly crafted from wood, with occasional use of glass and bronze. Influenced by Italian Renaissance humanism, his art features layered silhouettes and mixed media. Key pieces include 'Cheval ailé' (1987) and 'Ange exterminateur' (1990), along with more recent sculptures like 'Vague' (1992) and 'Talibanes en burqa grillagée' (2002). A monograph by Enrico Crispolti is published in conjunction with the exhibition.
