Marino Marini and Alberto Savinio Lead Finarte Auction in Milan

On December 3, 2025, Finarte held a Modern and Contemporary Art auction at Via dei Bossi 2 in Milan, featuring over 100 lots. The top lot was Marino Marini's bronze sculpture 'Piccolo Miracolo' (1955-56), which sold for €345,750, exceeding its low estimate of €280,000. Alberto Savinio's 'Uomo con la Pipa' from the early 1920s achieved €235,950, surpassing its high estimate of €120,000. Arnaldo Pomodoro's 'Sfera' (1978) sold for €73,230. Works by Carla Accardi, Emilio Vedova, and Piero Dorazio fetched between €25,000 and €50,000. Mario Schifano's 'Il Cielo' (1965) sold for €63,150, with seven of his eight lots finding buyers. International highlights included Max Ernst's 'Lune jaune' (1960) at €85,830 and Victor Vasarely's 'Ellen' (1974) at €75,750. Andy Warhol's 'Mao Tse Tung' (1972) from Bianca Attolico's collection remained unsold. On December 4, Finarte auctioned the collection of Palmiro Togliatti and Nilde Iotti, featuring works by Renato Guttuso depicting social and labor themes, selling between €2,000 and €20,000. The sale also included pieces from industrialist Giuseppe Verzocchi's collection.
