Marinella Senatore's 'Afterglow' Takes Over London with Performances and Installations

exhibition · 2026-04-27

From June 7 to 9, 2022, Italian artist Marinella Senatore presented 'Afterglow,' a performance and exhibition across multiple venues in London. The event kicked off with an exhibition at the residence of the Italian Ambassador, aligning with the Republic Day reception, which was rescheduled to June 7. On June 9, hundreds of performers interacted with the public, starting with a private viewing at Mazzoleni gallery, attended by Ambassador Raffaele Trombetta. Participants then traveled on a vintage double-decker bus to Notting Hill, where they performed, including a children's choir under Senatore's 'Bodies of Alliance' installation. The finale occurred at Battersea Power Station, featuring musicians and dancers, celebrating the tenth anniversary of Senatore's SOND project, which has engaged over 6.5 million participants.
