Marina Paulenka Appointed Artistic Director of Fotografiska Berlin
Marina Paulenka, an artist and curator from Zagreb, has been named artistic director of Fotografiska Berlin, the new branch of the global photography museum. She will work alongside executive director Yousef Hammoudah. Paulenka previously served as artistic director of Unseen Amsterdam and the Organ Vida International Photography Festival, and received a Lucie Award in 2018. Fotografiska Berlin is set to open in the former Kunsthaus Tacheles building in Mitte, a 9,000-square-meter space that was an artist squat in the 1990s-2000s. The museum aims to be an inclusive cultural hub. Fotografiska was founded in Stockholm in 2010 and has locations in Tallinn, New York, and soon Shanghai and Miami.
