Marina Caneve explores human-animal boundaries at Fondazione Modena Arti Visive
Marina Caneve (Belluno, 1988) presents a photographic research on the Natura 2000 project, an EU network of ecological corridors that allow wildlife to cross roads and dangerous areas. The exhibition at Fondazione Modena Arti Visive, curated by Daniele De Luigi as part of the Italian Council grant, features images of vegetated bridges, safety nets, and human-bear encounters in Romania. The show opens with two literary quotes: one from Franz Kafka (centenary of his death in 2024) in a letter to Felice Bauer, and another from Vitaliano Trevisan's 'I quindicimila passi'. A video section displays footage from camera traps capturing nocturnal wildlife. The exhibition questions humanity's relationship with wild animals and our own animal nature.
