Marina Bastianello Gallery Opens Third Venice Space in Cannaregio

exhibition · 2026-04-27

Marina Bastianello Gallery has opened a new venue in the Cannaregio district of Venice, marking the gallerist's third space. The new gallery, named marina bastianello gallery venice, joins her existing spaces in Mestre: the original marina bastianello gallery and Lamb, directed by her son Leo de Luca (born 1999). Both Mestre locations are housed within the M9 Museum complex. While the Mestre galleries focus on emerging and very young artists, the Venice venue will represent established national and international artists. The three spaces maintain a common thread and dialogue. The gallery consists of two communicating rooms, with the second illuminated by four openings: two display windows on Calle de l'Aseo and two windows overlooking the Rio della Misericordia. The inaugural exhibition, opening September 16, 2023, is a solo show by American artist Gregory de la Haba. Future programming includes a November 2023 exhibition by Fabrizio Gazzarri and a major group show involving all three galleries coinciding with the 2024 Venice Biennale. Bastianello describes her vision as a 'horizontal palace' spanning from Mestre to Venice, aiming to offer three research methods in contemporary art to a broad audience.
