Marimekko Osteria Fiori Blossoms at Milan Design Week 2026

architecture-design · 2026-04-25

At Milan Design Week 2026, Finnish brand Marimekko transformed the Osteria Grand Hotel near Naviglio Pavese into an immersive floral oasis called Osteria Fiori di Marimekko. The installation, part of the FuoriSalone, integrated art, design, gastronomy, mixology, and culture in a relaxed atmosphere. Chef Maud Saddok of Helsinki's Maukku curated a special menu, while the bar offered Finnish-inspired aperitifs. The experience launched the new pattern Kukasta kukkaan (“from flower to flower”) by Erja Hirvi, which appeared on a facade mural, staff uniforms, and tablecloths. Outdoor seating featured Montessori-style tables along a bocce court, with limited-edition ceramics available for purchase. Marimekko, founded in 1951 by Armi Ratia to spread optimism, pioneered the lifestyle brand category.
