Marilisa Cosello's 'Complex' at Spazio Contemporanea, Brescia
Established in 2008 by collectors Paolo and Carlo Clerici alongside photographer Ken Damy in Brescia, Spazio Contemporanea has emerged as a center for innovative artistic endeavors. Since 2023, it has served as the exhibition space for the Fondazione Clerici. On November 29, the venue will unveil 'Complex,' a solo showcase by Marilisa Cosello (born 1978, Salerno), curated by Luca Panaro in collaboration with Galleria Studio G7. This exhibition includes performance art, video, photography, drawing, and sculpture, emphasizing the body as both a political and symbolic instrument. Notable pieces include the 'Try' cycle (2020) and 'American Dream' (2022), which address themes of female identity and societal violence, displayed across seven galleries and a video room, chosen by a scientific committee.
