Mariella Mengozzi, the first woman to lead the MAUTO – Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile di Torino, has died. She directed the museum from May 2018 to the end of April 2023. Born in Forlì in 1962, she earned a law degree and a master's in business management in Bologna. Before entering the cultural sector, she held marketing roles at Walt Disney and Ferrari, where she directed the Maranello Experience business unit, including the Ferrari Museum and Factory Tours. She later coordinated the 50th anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini and the Ayrton Senna Tribute: 1994-2014 in Imola, and served as CEO of Quintessence Yachts BV, a Dutch licensee of the Aston Martin brand for yachting. At MAUTO, she led the museum through the pandemic, achieving a record 240,000 visitors in 2022, surpassing the 2011 reopening record.
