Marie Orensanz retrospective opens at Buenos Aires' Muntref with 100 works spanning 1960s to present
The Centro de Arte Contemporáneo at the Universidad Nacional Tres de Febrero (Muntref) has launched 'El fluir del pensamiento' (The Flow of Thought), which is Marie Orensanz's first major retrospective in Buenos Aires in over a decade. Curated by Diana Wechsler, this exhibition takes place across five rooms within the historic Hotel dos Imigrantes and features approximately 100 pieces created from the 1960s to today. It traces Orensanz's artistic evolution, showcasing significant works like 'La Gallareta' (1969), four large enamel-on-canvas paintings from 1965, drawings from 'Las máscaras' (1966), and a 2000 video based on 'Os dominantes'. Additionally, it includes her 1969 Braque Prize-winning work and sections devoted to marble, metal, and audiovisual art.
