Marie Chouinard brings Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights to Milan stage
Canadian choreographer Marie Chouinard has created a surreal three-act performance inspired by Hieronymus Bosch's triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights, staged at Teatro Elfo Puccini in Milan as part of the Milanoltrefestival. The work marks the 500th anniversary of Bosch's death and features dancers moving to original music by Louis Dufort, with projections of the painting on circular surfaces. Chouinard chose to remain faithful to the painting's allegories of carnal sins, hellish punishment, and temptation, aiming to 'experience the joy of bowing before a masterpiece.' The performance runs until October 16, 2016.
