Marian Pastor Roces' 'Gathering' Anthology Chronicles Four Decades of Political Art Criticism in the Philippines
Marian Pastor Roces has released her debut collection of essays, 'Gathering: Political Writing on Art and Culture,' which includes 43 pieces from her extensive career. This work marks the first publication under a new project by the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde. An art critic since the Marcos era, Roces emphasizes the deep connection between art and life. The anthology, named after a 1991 exhibition-text co-created with curator Beth Jackson, is arranged chronologically, beginning with 'Old Photographs, Recuerdos Tristes' (1974).
