Mariam Badawy's Generative Arabic Typography System

Mariam Badawy, a designer based in Cairo, has created a generative typographic system specifically for Arabic letterforms, featured in her project titled 'Generative Type Experiments GTX Mariam Badawy: Arabic Layouts'. This project utilizes modular grids and organized layouts to generate visual tension, prioritizing geometric alignment over decorative elements. Each Arabic character is integrated into a modular grid, where negative space actively influences the reading flow. The color scheme is strictly monochrome, with stark black and white panels emphasizing each glyph's structural features.
