Marìa: New Creative Agency Launches in Palermo

other · 2026-05-05

In Palermo, Italy's capital of culture for 2018, three former Mosaicoon employees have founded Marìa, a creative agency and video production house. Alessandro Albanese (born 1985) and Carlo Loforti (born 1987) met at Mosaicoon, where they worked as a creative duo for four years, handling brands like Microsoft, Samsung, Vileda, Lufthansa, and Abarth. Albanese, who studied in Palermo and Valencia, previously launched Weartdifferent and Mobbers Palermo, introducing flash mobs to Italy. Loforti is author of the novel "Appalermo, Appalermo." They left their permanent jobs to start Marìa, joined by Andrea Cammareri as the rational counterpart. The name Marìa, they explain, evokes a maternal aunt: loving and sincere but less involved than a mother. In its first months, Marìa has produced music videos for Palermo artists Nicolò Carnesi and Alessio Bondì via Malintenti Dischi, and social videos for Studio Festi. Upcoming projects include work for Sicilian brand Tasca D'Almerita and national/international clients. The founders aim to support Sicilian entrepreneurs while looking beyond the island.
